KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD BAND’S THE TRAVELER OUT TODAY ON CONCORD RECORDS

Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band’s The Traveler is out today on Concord Records. A hard-charging collection of some of the most distinctive music of Kenny Wayne’s storied career, it includes several new originals plus fresh takes on Buffalo Springfield’s “Mr. Soul” and Joe Walsh’s “Turn To Stone,” and was recorded in Los Angeles during a short break in their relentless touring schedule. The album is currently #1 on iTunes’ Blues chart and in the Top 10 overall, and is being met with raves. Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band will also be touring from June-August, including several co-headline shows with Buddy Guy. Full itinerary is below.

Today the album’s first official music video has also been released – watch “Woman Like You” here.

Shepherd and vocalist Noah Hunt also recently performed a live session for Paste Magazine and sat down for an intimate Q&A in front of a live audience in NYC last week as part of the Backstory Events series, streamed by Guitar World.

The Traveler features Kenny, vocalist Noah Hunt, drummer Chris “Whipper” Layton, bassist Kevin McCormick, and keyboardists Jimmy McGorman and Joe Krown. It was co-produced by Shepherd and Marshall Altman.

The Traveler continues Shepherd’s trajectory of quality. The diversity in his musical approach, songwriting consistency, organic production,

and passionate performances place it over and above anything else in his catalog to date.” – AllMusic, 4 out of 5 stars

“Kenny Wayne Shepherd comes out burning…10 tracks that will knock your socks off.” – Elmore, 97/100

One of Shepherd’s breakout hits is also back on the Billboard charts and as of this week is #1 on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart.  A new recording of “Blue on Black” featuring Kenny, Queen’s Brian May, Brantley Gilbert and Five Finger Death Punch was recently released, with proceeds going to the Gary Sinise Foundation that supports First Responders. Read about it on Billboard.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd has sold millions of albums worldwide and, in addition to his five Grammy Award nominations, has won two Billboard Music Awards, a pair of Orville H. Gibson awards, the Blues Foundation’s Keeping The Blues Alive award and two Blues Music awards. He’s had six #1 blues albums and a string of #1 mainstream rock singles. His last album, 2017’s Lay It On Down, debuted at #1 on three different Billboard charts: Blues, Current Rock Albums, and Internet Albums.
